Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS CENTRE CHAMPIONSHIPS?

Centre Championships is our last competition day for the season, and is a chance for athletes to compete in their favourite events. Athletes choose which events they want to compete in and medals are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each final. Ribbons will be awarded to 4th to 8th place.

WHEN IS IT ON?

Saturday, 29th March 2025.
First event starts at 8:30am, and will conclude at approximately 1:30pm – this will depend on which events you pick, but it’s a longer day than normal.

WHO CAN COMPETE?

All U6 to U17 FLAC registered athletes.

DO I NEED TO REGISTER BEFOREHAND?

Yes – you cannot enter on the day, and no late entries will be accepted.

  • Entries close at 11:59pm on Saturday, 22nd March 2025.

  • The cost is $3 per event or 5 events for $12 per athlete (plus a processing fee charged by ResultsHQ).

  • You pick the events you want to do – Maximum of 5 events per athlete.

  • Register via ResultsHQ Family Portal, or click the button below.

  • Please disregard any 'clash' notifications you may receive whilst registering - rest assured you can still enter those events.

WHICH EVENTS CAN I DO?

CLICK HERE to view the DRAFT timetable with a list of events offered for each age group.
Important: The event times and flag locations listed in the registration/nomination portal are based on last season’s timetable and are to be used as a guide only. They are subject to change once entries close and numbers are finalised.

A final timetable will be published and emailed on Monday, 24th March 2025.

HOW DOES THE DAY RUN?

Age Group Managers will NOT be taking the age group around all together – as everyone will have chosen different events. Parents and athletes will need to keep an eye on the time and get themselves to and from events.

ARGH! SOME OF THE EVENTS I WANT TO DO CLASH WITH ONE ANOTHER ON THE TIMETABLE... WHAT DO I DO?

You can still enter and compete in those events! There will inevitably be clashes between some track and field events – ignore the error in ResultsHQ and read on…

If you are competing in a Track Event that is on at the same time as a Field Event you are also competing in, this is what you need to do:

Note – if you leave High Jump to run in a track event, you must re-enter High Jump at the height it is currently at when you return (ie, the bar will not be lowered back to the height you were on when you left).

MEDAL/RIBBON PRESENTATIONS- HOW DO THEY WORK?

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be sent to the Medal Presentation Podium straight after their event has concluded.

  • Ribbons will be awarded by Age Group Managers at the event.

  • Winners of each Age Group/gender will be recognised separately, even if their events are combined.

  • Heats in any Track Events will have a separate Final run later – this will be communicated over the PA.

WHAT ARE UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS?

Full and correct FLAC Centre Uniform (including Coles and Commonwealth Bank patches) must be worn, or athletes may be disqualified/ineligible for medals or ribbons and centre records (if applicable) will not be recognised.
Replacement patches or uniform items can be purchased from the pavilion.

AS A PARENT, WHAT DUTIES DO I NEED TO DO ON THE DAY?

Parents need to select and perform a duty when entering your athletes into their events as a condition of entry – this is in addition to any duties you may have done throughout the season already – this is a condition of entry, and there are no exceptions to this.

However, it is completely fine for you to arrange for someone else to perform the duty on your behalf if you cannot personally complete it.

One duty per family; duty slots are 1-1.5 hours in length – including breaks! It is a ‘first in, best dressed’ system – so get in early to secure the slot you would like. You can also log back in and select a different duty slot (if available) up until the close of entries if you wish.

**Athletes whose parents who refuse to do duty or do not actually complete it and sign off on the day will be disqualified from their events, and ineligible to receive medals and/or ribbons – it’s unfortunate that we have to take this ‘hard line’ approach, but unfortunately there are no alternatives as there are a few who think they’re an exception and can’t fathom contributing in a small way to their child’s sport. We trust that this isn’t a problem for you though!

Remember that Little Athletics is entirely volunteer run, including committee and regular volunteers, and relies on your support as parents contributing to your child’s sport.

I'M AN AGE GROUP MANAGER OR STARTER/TIMER - WHAT DO I DO?

Age Group Managers will be running and judging the field events for all Age Groups, not just your own – Malcom will email you.

THIS ALL SOUNDS GREAT! WHAT IF I HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS?
