Region & State Events
Regional and State Events are offered to registered FLAC members for both the Track & Field and Cross Country seasons. Athletes in the Under 9 - Under 17 Age Groups can enter these events.
Region and State Track & Field Carnivals
Regional Track & Field Carnival is the SMR (Southern Metro Region) event that allows athletes to qualify for the respective State Championships for athletes U9 and above.
First place in all Regional events will automatically qualify the athlete to progress to the State T&F Championships, with the exception of those who are placed 1st in the High Jump and Walks... To progress in these 2 events athletes must meet the qualifying standard in each event. Each event has a specific amount of athletes that will progress through to the State Championships.

All entries are to be completed online. For more information please look out for communications from LA Vic and updates via the FLAC social pages.
Region & State Relays
The SMR Regional Relays are a team competition event involving teams of four athletes. The relay teams will represent FLAC and compete against other centres in the Southern Metropolitan Region (SMR).
All athletes from U9-U16 are invited and encouraged to join FLAC Relay teams. Relays are a great part of the athletic season - a team event which allows FLAC athletes to run together in a team and support each other.
Teams may qualify to run at the State Relay Championships. All children competing in Region Relays must wear the FLAC Centre uniform.
FLAC has a rich tradition of relay success at both Regional and State level, and we cannot wait to kick off the Relay season!

For further information on relay teams and training, visit the Relays page on this website.
State Combined Event
The LA Vic State Combined Event is available for entry for athletes in the Under 9 to Under 17 age groups. The Combined Events consists of between five and seven separate disciplines (based on age group). Events consisting of five disciplines are held on one day. Events consisting of more than five disciplines are held over two consecutive days. Athletes accumulate points on completion of events and in each age group, the athlete with the highest point’s tally is the winner. All children must wear the appropriate FLAC Centre uniform.
There is no qualifying requirement to compete at the State multi event, however numbers are capped in each age group, so we encourage early registration to avoid missing out on a spot. Athletes compete against other competitors from all over the State.
Region & State Cross Country Events
Regional Cross Country Carnival is the SMR (Southern Metro Region) event that serves as a qualifying event for the respective State Cross Country Championships for athletes U9 and above.
Athletes must compete at the Regional Cross Country event in order to qualify for State Cross Country Championships.

The State Cross-Country Relay Championships is a Teams event, where 3 athletes complete a Relay over a Cross-Country course. The distances are less than the individual Cross-Country distances to allow greater flexibility and formation of Teams. Athletes do not carry a baton; they start and finish within a transition zone.
