At Frankston Little Athletics Centre, the coaching team based at Ballam Park Athletics Track is made up of qualified and accredited coaches who are passionate about helping athletes be their best. With expertise across a wide range of track and field disciplines, our coaches provide guidance, skill development and performance-focused support for athletes of all ages and abilities. Whether your child is looking to build confidence, refine technique or take the next step in their athletics journey, our coaches are here to help. Paige Elvey

Hurdles, Sprints, Middle Distance & Relays

Level 2 Development Coach, currently completing Level 3 Performance Coaching course

2024 Little Athletics Victoria Emerging Coach of the Year

Paige loves the social, physical and competitive aspects of athletics and is always eager to share that passion with the athletes she coaches. She has been involved in the sport since the age of 9 and continues to compete as a Frankston senior athlete in the 400m hurdles and 400m.

Paige is excited to support athletes aged 12+ as they work towards their individual goals, helping them develop confidence, skills and enjoyment in the sport.

Lachy Freestone

Discus, Shot Put, Javelin and Hammer

Level 3 Performance Coach

Lachy has been coaching throws for 15 years, beginning as an assistant coach at Frankston Little Athletics while still an U15 athlete. Since then, he has coached junior athletes to State, National and International titles and records.

Alongside coaching, Lachy has worked as a personal trainer for 7 years, specialising in holistic mind, movement and strength development, as well as delivering run coaching and development programs for other trainers.

A Ballam Park local, Lachy progressed from regional competition to become a National Champion in Hammer Throw, with podium finishes in Discus, Shot Put and Javelin. He is passionate about growing the throws community at Frankston, throwing heavy things and having fun along the way.

Chloe Stevens

Horizontal Jumps, Sprints, Middle Distance

& Hurdles

Australian Olympic Team Coach

Chloe has been involved with Frankston Athletics since the age of 8 and has over 16 years of coaching experience. She has coached a large number of athletes across Long Jump, Triple Jump, Sprints and Hurdles.

Chloe has guided athletes to State and National Championships, as well as international competitions including World Juniors and World Championships. She has also represented Australia as a Long Jump and Triple Jump coach at the World Championships in Budapest and the Paris Olympic Games.

Peter Schuwalow

Middle, Long Distance & Cross Country

Level 3 Performance Coach

Peter is a highly accomplished coach with experience at the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and World Championships. He has guided numerous junior and senior athletes to medals at State and National Championships.

Specialising in events from 800m through to marathon, as well as cross country and road running, Peter has also served as Distance Coach at the Victorian Institute of Sport and as Team Manager and Coach for multiple National Teams. Through his squad, Zenith Running, Peter welcomes junior and adult athletes. His senior coaching highlight includes guiding Frankston athlete Sarah Klein to 14th place in the marathon at the World Athletics Championships.

Alistair Tait

Sprints, Hurdles & Middle Distance

Level 3 Performance Coach, currently completing Level 4 High Performance Coaching course

Alistair is a former track and field athlete who has turned his lifelong passion for athletics, health and performance into a professional coaching career. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Coaching, is an Athletics Australia Level 3 Performance Coach.

He discovered athletics at age 8 and joined Frankston Athletic Club at 14, proudly competing for the club for over a decade. As a coach, Alistair has guided athletes to State and National Championships and supported a sprinter through to World Junior competition.
